When Clare Parkin took a stall at Newcastle Market 7 years ago, she wasn’t sure what lay ahead.
The busy mum to 3 girls managed to juggle business with motherhood and her (then) gift shop became a popular fixture for locals, which gave Clare an idea…
Why not introduce crafting clubs for local children to enjoy during the school holidays?
The progression was a roaring success leading to a need for larger premises, which is when Clare took the leap to join us at Longton Exchange with Butterflies Wonderland!
Shortly after moving in, she faced an unprecedented challenge – a national lockdown.
“Working with my eldest daughters, Phoebe and Sophie, we decided to carry our business through lockdown with birthday and craft box deliveries to keep little ones entertained at home.
This was a life-saver for the business and we had some amazing feedback from the local community! That said, we’re really glad to be back at Longton with lots of new services on offer, including crafting sessions for children with sensory deprivation and disabilities, mum & toddler groups, and even a Halloween fancy dress disco during October half term.”
Butterflies Wonderland has a whole host of activities on offer, including:
● Make a Bear
● Princess Parties
● Superhero Days
● Stay and Play sessions
● Event room hire upstairs including a huge pirate ship climbing frame, soft play football, table air hockey and circus games!
