Community at Longton Exchange

Longton Exchange is more than a shopping centre, it’s a community space shaped by the people who use it.

Community engagement sits at the heart of how Longton Exchange is managed. Alongside the day-to-day running of the centre, a dedicated part of our role is focused on working with residents, community groups, charities and local partners to support activities and initiatives that bring people together and make a positive difference in Longton.

From large-scale town events to small acts of kindness, our approach is always rooted in pride in place, inclusion and collaboration.

What that looks like in practice

Recent and ongoing community activity at Longton Exchange includes:

  • Free family events, such as Fun Fridays during the school holidays

  • Community-led projects, including the Kindness Tree and Gratitude displays

  • Town-wide initiatives, like Longton’s Big Spring Clean

  • Support for local groups and charities, offering space, practical help and promotion

  • Seasonal events and celebrations, from Christmas activities to heritage-led events

  • Partnership working with organisations focused on wellbeing, creativity and regeneration

Many of these projects grow from conversations, ideas shared by residents, traders, volunteers and local organisations, and supporting that kind of grassroots activity is a key part of our community role.

Get involved

If you’re a community group, organiser, volunteer, or simply someone with an idea, our on-site Management Office team, including our Tenant, Community Engagement & Marketing Manager, is always happy to chat, offer guidance, and explore how we can work together.

Because when Longton comes together, great things happen.
